NSCL solicits proposals for experiments about every six to eight months. The external Program Advisory Committee evaluates the proposals. If you would like to be notified of calls for proposals, please join our user list.
The 38th meeting of the NSCL Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting will be held April 14-15, 2014. The Call for Proposals was announced on December 9, 2013, with a proposal submission deadline of February 21, 2014. We anticipate that first experiments with ReA3 will be possible starting in September 2014. Due to the limited operational experience with ReA3, PAC38 will consider experiments only for a limited set of beams and intensities. These beams and intensities will be available in the Call for Proposals.
We anticipate the next Call for Proposals (for PAC39) will come out in late 2014.
Once your experiment has been approved, you are contacted and your experiment is scheduled. Generally, the beam schedule is established three months in advance. Prior to scheduling, it is important that you communicate to us your needs and expectations for the experiment.
We strive to provide excellent support for every aspect of your experiment — prior to, during, and following your work at our facility. We invite you to contact the Manager for User Relations, with any questions or requests that you might have.
