The possibility to quantify np correlations in N=Z nuclei is of interest. This may be possible with the two-nucleon removal approach using light nuclei and historical data show interestingly different inclusive nn, pp, and np removal reaction yields. Two nucleon removal from 12C will be reviewed as a possibility and calculations using truncated (p-shell)
shell-model and larger basis no core shell-model (with EFT-inspired NN + NNN interaction) structure inputs will be discussed.
