Environmental management system policy

National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) recognizes the important role our natural resources and physical environment play in ensuring the continuing health, safety and welfare of our campus community.

NSCL is dedicated to the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) that will establish effective communications, identify measurable objectives and goals, compel periodic compliance assessments, and foster sound environmental leadership. To that end, NSCL acknowledges and supports participation in the University's EMS program. By participating in the EMS program, we shall endeavor to promote environmental stewardship by adopting several principles outlined in the laboratory's full EMS policy (PDF, 12.5 kb).

NSCL's EMS was registered as compliant with the ISO 14001 standard on August 29, 2006.
