NSCL Alumni Profile

R.G. Hamish Robertson
Professor of Physics (Boeing), Director, Center for Experimental Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics

I work in neutrino physics, and we are finishing up the SNO project now. Our next big project is KATRIN, a large-scale experiment to measure the mass of the neutrino by tritium beta decay. It is being built at the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Germany.
We are also at work on developing a double-beta-decay experiment with 76-Ge, "Majorana".
I was at MSU from 1971 to 1981, working my way up through the ranks from postdoc to professor, and doing experiments on the K-50 machine to begin with. It was a wonderful experience and a great place to work; I owe MSU so much. I send my best to my many kind friends there.
